As another action packed month draws to a close we are looking forward to April and the Songkran celebrations that are so popular in this part of the world – and there’s no better place to base yourself to enjoy the best of the Sogkran celebrations and be at the centre of Bangkok’s shopping hub than Arnoma Grand!
In March we were honoured to be chosen by the Vatican Embassy again as the venue for the celebrations to mark the Anniversary of the Pontificate of His Holiness Pope Francis – an event attended by numerous Bangkok based Ambassadors, we were the venue for a meeting of the prestigious Tourism Council of Thailand, we were visited by a group of Teachers and Students from Thanyaburi Rajamangkala Technology University and we had some of our more routine activities – including our monthly Staff Birthday Party. So another action packed month at Arnoma Grand, and with the Songkran Thai New Year celebrations to look forward to in April, there will be no let up!

As part of our CSR preogramme and commitment to giving something back to Society and the Tourism Industry, Arnoma Grand Bangkok was privileged to host a group of future Tourism professionals and give them an insight into how the kitchens work in a busy Hotel. In March a group of 50 Teachers and Students from the Faculty of Liberal Arts of Thunyaburi Technology Rajamangkala University were given a tour of the kitchens and a series of briefings by key Food and Beverage Team Members at Arnoma Grand Bangkok. On 28 March, the Arnoma Grand was the venue for a Meeting and Press Conference of the prestigious Travel Trade body, The Tourism Council of Thailand. Lead by Khun Ittirit Kinglake, the President, the Board members discussed a number of industry issues and proposed initiatives to drive forward and to further develop Thailand’s Tourism industry.

Fourth Anniversary of the Pontificate of His Holiness Pope Francis, celebrated at Arnoma Grand

On Tuesday 21 March, Arnoma Grand Bangkok was honoured to welcome His Eminence Francis Xavier Kriengsak Kovithavanij, Cardinal, Archbishop of Bangkok, and His Excellency Archbishop Tschang In-Nam, The Vatican Ambassador, along with a host of Bangkok based Ambassadors and VIP Guests, to a Reception at Arnoma Grand Bangkok to mark the Anniversary of the Pontificate of His Holiness Pope Francis.
Over 300 Guests attended and listened to speeches from His Excellency Archbishop Tschang In-Nam before toasting to the happiness and long life of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, King of Thailand. And to His Holiness the Pope Francis.

TV Show with our Kitchen team

On 13 February Arnoma Grand was invited to participate in the popular Thai Culinary Television programme “The Lost Recipes”. The programme Researchers seek out ancient Thai recipes that are in danger of fading away from Thai culture and reveal them to today’s audiences Our Executive Chef Khun Prachan, and his Kitchen Team assisted  by cooking  4 of these “lost” recipes Goong Jom, Jang Ron, Gang Nor Feuh and Mok Pla Siew. The Show will be Broadcast on Channel in May or June this year.

New Director of Human Resources for Arnoma Hotels & Resorts – and a new Era begins!

In February Arnoma Hotels & Resorts took a small but very significant step in appointing Khun Somchit Kornvipasruang as Director of Human Resources for the Group. A Graduate of Thammasat University and with 33 years of Human Resources experience with Hotel Groups including Starwood and the Siam City Group, in addition to non Hospitality Industry  International Companies including ICI and AB Food and Beverages, Khun Somchit brings vast experience to the Group. Khun Somchit’s primary focus is to manage and supervise all HR Matters of the Hotels in the Group with a special emphasis on Training support to the Department Heads and the development of a strong Corporate Social Responsibilities Charter for the Hotels. One of Khun Somchit’s first initiatives was to arrange a series of monthly Birthday Parties for all Team Members celebrating Birthdays in the current month It is one of Arnoma Hotels & Resorts objectives to recognize, motivate and build collaboration among Team Members and there will be many more initiatives over the next few months!

ATTA Meeting at Arnoma Grand Bangkok

On 23 February, Arnoma Grand was honoured to be the venue for the Monthly Meeting of ATTA (Association of Thai Travel Agents). ATTA ‘S Membership is formed by hundreds of Thai Travel Agents who specialise in both Outbound Travel and Inbound Travel into Thailand. ATTA arranges a monthly meeting where Members get together to discuss Business Opportunities and challenges and update themselves on developments within the industry. At February’s Meeting the Guest of Honour and Guest Speaker was Khun  Weerasak Kowsurat, Chairman of TCEB (the Thailand Exhibition and Convention Bureau).  This month’s Meeting was especially important as elections were held to elect the new Board Members and several hundred Members were present.
